What Truly Is Your Passion?

by Elliott Roberts

Today’s world is more focused on the fast paced style that we have set for ourselves than the dreams and hopes that once fueled our aspirations. We get so very caught up in our responsibilities that the obligations and expectations of our lives makes for a more important goals than our true passions. Many people feel that if they focus on themselves they are being selfish and cutting the attention to the other aspects of their lives that they have deemed more important, thus leaving room for those inner most desires lacking.

The book shelves are full of self-help publications that aim at offering insight into the best ways to improve overall happiness and fulfillment in life. The heart of these techniques lies in questions we all must ask ourselves. What is your motivation? What are the things that make you smile? What did you want to be when you grew up?

In order to find happiness, we all need to look deep into ourselves and find the things that make us who we really are. Those things that make us smile and whistle when no one else seems to be feeling our happiness. These are the things that need to be the center of our worlds, these are the passions that need to fuel our lives.

There are those that have given up the things they wanted most in life in order to be what they were expected to become. The woman who gave up her dream of becoming a CEO in order to raise the family. A father who put away those model trains once life got in the way because they were childish and there simply was not enough time. These were the dreams we allowed to falter because life expected something or we perceived life expected something more of us than we had time to give.

Rediscovering your passion may actually be harder than you think it should be. After lying stale in our minds for so long, those small things that once drove us often become alien in nature and need to be rekindled and reworked in order to find a place in our every day lives. The best path is to revert to your youth. Think back to what things made you most happy. Remember the passions that made you smile and the hobbies that once held such a high importance in your life and make room for those passions again.

Once you discover your passion, pursue it! For some, it may be scary to step outside of the norm and onto a path less traveled. But personal growth only happens when we extend ourselves beyond our usual boundaries. You don’t have to neglect your responsibilities to pursue your passion. It may simply be to take an art class at a local community center or you may find that you wish to switch careers and become a graphic designer. Determine what you are passionate about and then find ways to embrace it.

There is no amount of money in the world that can measure up to the payment your passion can provide. While the payment may not increase your checkbook or give you that promotion at work, it will give you back a sense of yourself that has been lost for a very long time.

Stop right now and think about those things that made youth so wonderful. If only for a moment, take a step back 10, 20, 30, 50 years and find that one thing that drove your mind to the limits of happiness. Once you have that thought firmly in your grasp, go for it!

The Lemons of Life Can Make Lemonade

by Elliott Roberts

It’s just as easy to have negative thoughts as it to have positive ones. That simplistic statement was coined by a great professional boxer named Sugar Ray Robinson. While the statement may seem obvious and over simplified, the truth is that many people find positive thinking to be a difficult chore.

Filling the mind with negative thoughts is similar to a disease. Those thoughts eat away at the mind and the happiness in life and they gain more and more strength the longer they are in the mind. For people who choose to think negatively instead of positively, it becomes almost second nature to find themselves in the midst of horrid situations. The realities of life become so ingrained in negative thought that they often find themselves lost to the world of happiness.

According to the millions of self-help books on the market today, negative thinking creates a negative energy that almost beings to control one’s life. On the other hand, practicing a more positive mind set can almost evoke positive feelings and thoughts thus changing the path of life. For those who are looking for the best ways to improve overall life happiness, positive thinking is at the heart of this goal.

Once a person allows themselves to open up and release those negative thoughts positive thinking is easy. It is often fear, yes fear, that holds us back in the life of positive thinking. When we think positively about situations it often sets the mind up for failure. These failures are more difficult to deal with than the day to day lives of negative thoughts. At least with the negative thoughts, we know what to expect. In order to move from a negative mind set to a positive mind set, all holds on life need to be lifted and confidence in who we are and the abilities we have restored.

The other trick to positive thinking is to remain positive when you do not get the results you want. When you do not get the call back for your dream job, believe that there is another opportunity out there that may be even better than the first. Trust the positive thought that great opportunities will continue to present themselves as long as you continue to expect them. It is easier to see a great opportunity when you are looking for it than when your thoughts are caught up in the opportunity that you just missed.

A key step to positive thinking is to give thanks for the things already in your life. Take a moment to try this exercise. Sit down with a pen and paper and write at the top of the page, “I am thankful for” and begin listing all the things (no matter how small) for which you are grateful. You list may include: my house, my health, my mother, my son/daughter, my child’s sense of humor, my pets, my friends, my intelligence, my car, etc. It does not have to mean that you have a mansion, but you are thankful because at least you have a house. Part of the trick is to even be thankful for the things that are not going the way you wish when you can see how they could be much worse. If you take the time to list every minor detail, you will get tired of writing before you run out of things to write. Another trick is to give thanks for the things that have yet to enter your life. “I am thankful for my dream job as a”

Also, try transferring the energy you spend dreading the inevitable into something more positive. Instead of spending energy on complaining about the fact that you are about to be laid off from the job you hated anyway, put that energy into figuring out how to use this time to create the job you always wanted. We have the power to design our own lives; or if you believe in fate then believe that what has happened has happened for a reason and you only have to look for the positive opportunity that fate is providing.

The next time you have to urge to say something will not happen, swallow that fear and negative expectation then allow yourself to hope that it will happen. You will find that believing in yourself is the key to a more fulfilling life. Increased productivity on the job, a more satisfying relationship, a larger raise or a coveted promotion, a more gratifying social lifeall of these are possible through positive thinking.

Success Through Self Motivation

by Elliott Roberts

Self motivation, a most essential concept, is difficult to master because we have so much negativity to face, be it from ourselves or others. If self esteem is low, creativity is stifled. If you get excited about your idea, it is often squashed by the negativity of others before you even finish your pitch! Don’t be discouraged! The self motivated person takes it in stride, grows stronger from it and produces! Here are some ideas to promote positive energy and encouragement for you.

Understand yourself; your self concept. You have strengths and weaknesses unique to you. Play on them. Assign yourself things you enjoy which will provide a steady stream of small accomplishments. The result will be the motivation to proceed and also tackle the bigger, less enjoyable tasks.

Track your achievements. Put your goals on paper. Now cross them off when you are finished and congratulate yourself for a job well done every single time. If you do not realize what you are accomplishing, you will get in a rut and face each day with dread rather than excitement.

Divide big projects into a few smaller tasks. Big projects are daunting and promote procrastination. Completing the project a piece at a time will actually get it done faster and you will have more opportunities to congratulate yourself.

Mingle with like minded folks. Even people with the best intentions can suck the energy right out of you and your creative self. You cannot change your Sister’s negativity and lack of imagination, but you can choose the role she plays in your life. Find someone with common goals and interests to share ideas with and keep each other excited. It goes a long way.

Don’t get mad, get done. Interruptions pop up and errors are made. They can only be as harmful as you allow them. Simply deal with the situation and move on. Getting angry and dwelling will only waste valuable time and energy.

Be good to your body. Feed it and exercise it. Mind and body are powerful together when well maintained, yet we often neglect them in favor of that few extra minutes of work. That is a bad plan because if the body quits performing, your productivity ends.

Although difficult to keep yourself motivated, it is also easier because it depends on only you. So turn the negativity around, stay on track, reward yourself, and get ready to achieve your dreams.

The Mindset Of A Millionaire - Get Into It And Succeed

by Tim Johnson

Believe it or not, you can make a million dollars online. Wild claims? Perhaps I’ll be able to change your mind.

It’s actually pretty simple. Now, I’m not a millionaire myself, yet, but I know that I’ll get there. How do I know this? Well over the past years, as I was researching constantly about everything about marketing online, there was one critical element that I missed.

Action. I learned so much, and yet I never put these new techniques and strategies into action. I would just continue to search for the silver platter solution, the golden opportunity, the sign pointing me in the direction of success.

Well, I’m sad to break the news, but they don’t exist; at least, no absolute answer does. No person in the world can hold your hand and show you exactly how to become a millionaire online. Who in their right minds would even give away a secret like that anyways? But that’s the exact way the majority of internet marketers sell to you, they want you to believe that they hold the solution to your problems, and getting it is as simple as pressing the order now button.

Not all products like this are bad though, some do have some great information inside, but it is always up to you to take that information and make something of it. Take action, persevere, test, track, experiment. It’s up to you to shape your own million dollar journey.

Now you’re probably asking yourself, ok I’ll take action, but where ever do I begin? Think back to your own experiences, how did you get to this article? Perhaps you found this on a search for information, what else have you searched for, and what have you found answers to?

Maybe there are other people who need this information as well. That’s the millionaire mindset! Find out what people want, and give it to them! Think of the online world as a giant search engine, people are always looking for information. Now, it’s your turn to provide them with it, and profit!

This is obviously a tad over simplified, but the concept is what counts. I’m not going to sugar coat it, it does take some work, but if you are willing to take action, and give people the information they are looking for, then there isn’t a single reason why you cannot be the next big online millionaire!

Self within Beauty: Your Mental Attitude and Physical Tone

by Lindelwa Maseko

Success is in the blood. There are men whom fate can never keep down they march forward in a jaunty manner, and take by divine right the best of everything that the earth affords. But their success is not attained by means of the Samuel Smiles-Connecticut policy. They do not lie in wait, nor scheme, nor fawn, nor seek to adapt their sails to catch the breeze of popular favor. Still, they are ever alert and alive to any good that may come their way, and when it comes they simply appropriate it, and tarrying not, move steadily on.

Fear is the rock on which we split, and hate the shoal on which many a Braque is stranded. When we become fearful, the judgment is as unreliable as the compass of a ship whose hold is full of iron ore; when we hate, we have unshipped the rudder; and if ever we stop to meditate on what the gossips say, we have allowed a hawser to foul the screw.

Many people know this, but they do not know it thoroughly enough so that it shapes their lives. We want friends, so we scheme and chase ‘cross lots after strong people, and lie in wait for good folks or alleged good folks hoping to be able to attach ourselves to them. The only way to secure friends is to be one. And before you are fit for friendship you must be able to do without it. That is to say, you must have sufficient self-reliance to take care of yourself, and then out of the surplus of your energy you can do for others.

If you would have friends, cultivate solitude instead of society. Drink in the ozone; bathe in the sunshine; and out in the silent night, under the stars, say to yourself again and yet again, “I am a part of all my eyes behold!” And the feeling then will come to you that you are no mere interloper between earth and heaven; but you are a necessary part of the whole. No harm can come to you that does not come to all, and if you shall go down it can only be amid a wreck of worlds.

The physical tone

“In the healthy body every cell is polarized in subjection to the Central Will. Perfect health, therefore, is orderly obedience, government and harmony. Every cell is a living entity, whether of vegetable or animal potency, and wherever disease is, there are disunion, error, rebellion and insubordination; and the deeper the seat of the confusion, the more dangerous the malady and the harder to quell it.” J. C. Street.

Fear in man is a result of repeated suggestion, to which low health-tone is a natural invitation. Health is the primary tonic against fear. Perfect physical health is mere strength. Perfect mental health is mere brain sanity. Perfect soul-health is the whole of the man at his best. When the body is buoyant, the mind clear and inspired, the soul harmonic with all existence rightly in the universe, then is the impulse of fear easily mastered and the habit of fear finds no encouragement. There are, indeed, courageous invalids who have not come into the secret of right thought so far as health is concerned, and fearing athletes and scholars who have neglected the secret of courage, and timorous saints who have failed to possess themselves of the confidence of goodness. Nevertheless, the eternal law is evident that the one great enemy of fear is The White Life in Harmonic Mind in Buoyant Body.

Hence, in the sense of health, tone signifies “the state of tension or firmness proper to the tissues of the body; the state in which all the parts and organs have due tension or are well strung; the strength and activity of the organs on which healthy functions depend; that state of the body in which all the normal functions are performed with healthy vigor”.

The tone of a person’s health is determined by the state of the enteric movement characteristic to himself.
