Action and the Law of Attraction

by Dick Ingersoll

When you start out working with the Law of Attraction more proactively, you may question whether you have to take physical action as well as your mental and emotional exercises. The answer to this will vary depending upon who you ask.

There are people who claim that no action is needed; just directing the right frequency of thought and emotion toward a much wanted target is enough. Then there are those who think that action is always required, because action is the vehicle through which all desires are manifested.

In my experience, it can undoubtedly work both ways. Depending on the circumstances, you might possibly find yourself needing to take certain measures toward your goals.

Here is an uncomplicated process to help you know for sure:

Take care of the intimate work first. Focus on getting your thoughts, emotions, beliefs and expectations into complete alignment with what you want. Don’t worry about “how” it’s going to happen, just focus on exerting the right frequency of energy to attract it. You can do this by meditating, imagining, establishing, and making a vision board, and so on.

Completely let go. Once you are in alignment with your yearnings, turn it over to the cosmos. Don’t fret about whether it will arrive, or put yourself in a panic trying to come up with a plan. Take a step back from it and let it build for a little while. The amount of time is up to you, but I recommend no less than a week or two.

Tune into your intuition. During this letting go period, turn your attention inward regularly. Tune into your intuition and find out if there is something you can do to bring this desire into your life. You may or may not obtain any insights about it. If you do get a hunch or nudge to do something specific, by all means go for it. If not, constantly pay attention for any opportunities that might appear later. Don’t try to push or hurry the process along, because you’ll most likely end up causing more interruptions. These things have a tendency of appearing at exactly the right time, regardless of how we try to mess it up!

The fact is there is no right way or wrong way to use the Law of Attraction. Interestingly, the way it works usually seems to correlate with your beliefs.

If you believe you have to take action to attract your desires, guess what? You probably will. Likewise, if you believe that you do not necessarily have to take action, the universe will find a way to deliver your desires without a bit of additional effort on your part.

However, there are occasions when you will be prompted to take action even if you initially didn’t believe you’d have to do so. When this happens, simply follow where your heart leads. The actions you are advised to take will ALWAYS be in your best interest, and they’ll typically be quite enjoyable! Discover how to trust your intuition for assistance anytime you want to attract something, and you will be shown the way to get it as fast and easily as possible – whatever that may involve.

Hope For the Future

by Kenrick Cleveland

“If you want to build a ship, don’t herd people together to collect wood and don’t assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea.”—Antoine de Saint-Exupery

There are lots of things to worry about. If you’re paying any attention at all to the news, you can see these things everywhere, on all levels, from inflation, oil prices, antibiotic resistant viruses, the housing market is crumbling, earthquakes and tsunamis, the crazy out of control deficit and the weak dollar, the polar bears—um. . . I could go on, but A) we all know what’s going on and B) I am making the conscious decision to nurture the beautiful things in life and impact the present with positivity.

It’s a challenge. From every angle, we’re pushed to interact on a very fearful, scarcity driven level. It is my desire in life to act as a catalyst for courage and abundance, self persuasion to the point of shifting reality, switching frames for everyone that I come in contact with.

This means, my readers, that I am opening up new avenues for exploration. I will always teach and continue to learn and advance the field of persuasion. That will remain a constant in my life. The new venture, though inextricably enmeshed with the field of persuasion (as far as persuasion goes), is going to be a new focus for me in terms of filling the void that we seem to find within us in these trying times. Instead of continuing to accumulate, I will be giving the tools—both old and new—to align ourselves with the proper mindset.

The law of resonance works like this: say you’re an unbelievably happy, upbeat, positive person, and you are working with a very depressive, negative person. . . well, it’s like the rock and the hard place. Either their energy will come up to meet you or your energy will begin to be depleted. Most likely, the two levels meet somewhere in the middle. That’s how it works on an unconscious level, at least.

My goal is to bring this law of resonance to a very conscious level so that the events and people around you, while they may seem hopeless, are not. My suggestion is that the vibration of everything in your world can be raised up to meet you. Again, this doesn’t happen passively, but happens instead through deliberate, mindful optimism.

I am not at all suggesting that there won’t be moments where you need a little support in life, some fortification, and someone to build you up when you have challenges. And I am geared to be that for you. I’m relentless about enriching our lives through pure, unadulterated hope.

There are opportunities everywhere if you have the eyes to see them. Even problems we might come up against contain the seeds of their solutions. We all have seeds, many seeds, that we can nurture, bringing focus to what we want to draw to us.

My goal is to teach you to long for the endless immensity of the sea.

Who’s the Boss?” 10 Ways to Start Taking Control

by Dick Ingersoll

At first glance, it would seem that positive thinking and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) have nothing to do with each other. But a lot of us with ADD develop negative thinking patterns because we become frustrated by our challenges and frequent feelings of being overwhelmed. This destructive outlook then makes it even harder for us to manage those challenges and move forward.

Practicing positive thinking allows people with ADD to concentrate on our strengths and achievements, which increases well being and motivation. This, in turn, allows us to pass more time making progress, and less time feeling down and perplexed. The following tips supply realistic suggestions that you can use to help shift into more positive thinking patterns:

1. Take Good Care of Yourself – It is a great deal easier to be optimistic when you are eating well, exercising, and getting plenty of sleep.

2. Remind Yourself of the Things You’re Grateful For – Stresses and challenges don’t seem quite as bad when you are unceasingly reminding yourself of the things that are right in life. Taking only 60 seconds a day to stop and value the good things will make a huge difference.

3. Look for the Proof Rather Than Making Assumptions – A fear of not being liked or accepted occasionally leads us to assume that we know what other people are thinking, but our concerns are usually not reality. If you have a fear that a friend or family member’s bad humor flows from something you did, or that your colleagues are secretly gossiping about you when you turn your back, speak up and ask them. Don’t waste time distressing that you did something wrong unless you have proof that there’s something to worry about.

4. Refrain from Practicing Absolutes – Have you ever told a partner “You’re ALWAYS late!” or complained to a friend “You NEVER call me!”? Thinking and speaking in absolutes like ‘always’ and ‘never’ makes the situation look tougher than it is, and programs your brain into believing that certain people are incapable of delivering.

5. Detach From Negative Thoughts – Your thoughts can’t hold any power over you if you don’t judge them. Whenever you notice yourself holding a negative thought, detach from it, witness it, and don’t follow it.

6. Squash the “ANTs” – In his book “Change Your Brain, Change Your Life,” Dr. Daniel Amen talks about “ANTs” – Automatic Negative Thoughts. These are the bad thoughts that are usually reactionary, like “Those people are laughing, they must be discussing me,” or “The boss wants to talk to me? It must be negative!” Once you notice these thoughts, realize that they’re nothing more than ANTs and crush them!

7. Practice Lovin’, Touchin’ & Squeezin’ (Your Friends and Family) – You don’t have to be an expert to recognize the benefits of a good hug. Supportive physical contact with friends, loved ones, and even pets, is an fast pick-me-up. One research study about this topic had a waitress touch some of her customers on the arm as she handed them their checks. She picked up higher tips from these customers than from the ones she did not touch!

8. Increase Your Social Activity – By expanding social activity, you reduce loneliness. Surround yourself with healthy, cheerful people, and their positive energy will affect you in a positive way!

9. Volunteer for an Organization, or Help another Person – Everyone feels good after helping. You can volunteer your time, your money, or your resources. The more positive energy you put out into the world, the more you will receive in return.

10. Use Pattern Interrupts to Combat Rumination – If you find yourself speculating, an excellent way to stop it is to disturb the pattern and force yourself to do something entirely different. Rumination is like hyper-focus on something negative. It’s never productive, because it is not rational or solution-oriented, it is just excessive concern. Try changing your physical surroundings – go for a walk or sit outside. You could also call a friend, pick up a book, or listen to some music.

When it concerns the corporate world, protocol is pretty much the religion. To recognize the things to be done are the basics of productivity, but interaction and maintaining a steady mind makes up the entire path to true productivity. There are those who seem to work well even under pressure, but they’re rare ones and we are human and imperfect. To get these little things like stress under our skins won’t solve our troubles. Sometimes it takes a bit of courage to acknowledge that we’re turning into workaholics than tell ourselves that we’re not doing our best.

A Simple Touch Can Help You Relax

by Kim Archer

Do you know how soothing and comforting touch can be? Of course you do! You have experienced it yourself so many times through your life. When you’re depressed or miserable, doesn’t the touch of a child’s hand or the weight of a baby in your arms ease the unpleasantness? Touch can perk you up; dissipating the effects of stress and making your mind and body relax and feel better.

Some people are particularly benefited by touch. Consider elderly people living on their own or in an institution – touch delights them, and makes them feel part of humanity. With no one from their own families to see and interact with on a daily basis, these older people are so glad when they feel the touch of a friendly hand, since all they get to feel nowadays is the occasional clinical or functional touch from a nurse or helper.

The sense of touch can not only relax, but heal as well.

On the other hand, for those people that work on computers all day long, receiving a neck and back massage can have an immediate effect. Even though you may begin the massage feeling rather tense, you will soon find yourself sinking into the chair as your tension begins to disperse.

Suppose you are arguing with someone in the family when your child suddenly gives you a hug or even just touches you lightly. It’s hard to carry on the argument after that because it’s difficult to sustain your annoyance when you have just been lovingly touched.

Many pet owners find the benefits rewarding of stroking, cuddling, and spending time with their pets. You could be in the worst possible mood when you arrive home, but when your pet greets you with excitement as you enter the house, all of your worries seem to fade away, and you can relax.

It is undeniable that humans need the physical pleasure of a touch. It doesn’t matter whether you’re being hugged by your wife, son, brother or buddy, a hug or any affectionate touch will instantly make you feel better and look at the world with brighter eyes. Even hugging yourself makes you feel good, more relaxed and calm.

Take your kids to a petting zoo and see how much they love stroking and cuddling the creatures there. As they play with the various animals, they will delight in the feel of their different skins and pelts, full of interesting textures and appearances.

The art of touching can certainly relax, soothe, heal, and comfort a human being. It can either be sexual, sensual, or even allowing an individual who has low self-esteem to open up to you and discuss their feelings.

It is the touch of a child that can make a grumpy old man smile; it is the touch of a friend that can create a comfort zone in which one is relaxed enough to share feelings; it is a mother’s touch that can relax a crying child into a peaceful state of slumber.

Achieving Happiness through Meditation

by Dick Ingersoll

There is only one way to achieve happiness. That way is to simply be happy. You are most likely wondering right now, how do I achieve happiness?” “Things just don’t work like that, it doesn’t take into consideration the times that I am miserable because of problems or issues that arise in my everyday life, not to mention the tragedies.” At this stage I have to stop and meditate. Meditation can be done many different ways, just find which works best for your purposes.

Being happy more often than you are use to is an incredibly difficult task to accomplish-not in the doing of it once you know how and then in keeping conscious of what you have learned. Yet, I still say that with meditation it can be accomplished. The path that you have selected that brought you to your current situation was not a few days or weeks in the making, but a long and arduous path that has extended through many years.

In truth of it is it has taken you a life-time to become the way you are today. It has also taken you that long to gain what you have achieved, to possess, and to arrive at your present condition. By taking the time to meditate and contemplate who you are, and whether what you have in your life is truly what you desire, If you are completely satisfied with the way your life is going, congratulations-do more of what you have been doing and you will acquire more of what you already have in your life.

But if who you are, what you have, and your present situation are below what you want or perhaps varies from what you long for, you have to start meditating about some basic alterations you will need to make in your life. Failure to make those alterations will find you continuing to seek the things you really would like in your life as the years fly past.

Because some of this that you are reading will seem impossible, ridiculous, or to you maybe even foolish and it may in the beginning offend you, causing you to ridicule what you are reading and maybe even make you feel you need to reject what you have read. I really must suggest to you that prior to rejecting how meditation can assist you through your life, ask yourself whether or not you want it to be true-then for your benefit please give yourself the opportunity to see it as true.

In this day and age with all the things we have to deal with in our lives it is very hard to stay on an upbeat level and be happy all the time, But just by taking a few moments a day just meditating by yourself will help you to put things in perspective where instead of being unhappy about the situation you are in, you can find a way to find the happy part of being unhappy.

Benefits of Conversational Hypnosis

by Victor Lorentzo

Hypnosis is a powerful tool to help people overcome their shortcomings. Hypnosis can unravel the guards that have been set by the conscious mind and delve into the subconscious mind. Conversational hypnosis is quite an effective method to help people overcome their qualms or help the person see your point of view.

What is conversational hypnosis? First let us understand the principles of hypnosis. Hypnosis is nothing but an induced state of relaxation. In this state the subject is relaxed and hence does not have any perceptions or guards. In this deep state of meditation, the subject is made to overcome all the inhibitions and hence can work out the solution.

The basis of conversational hypnosis is to build a rapport with a subject. You then confuse him to make him unsure what to think himself and then offer a suggestion for him to work with.

How can conversational hypnosis be used with benefits?

1. Conversational hypnosis can be used to increase sales. Conversational hypnosis can be a powerful tool for a salesman. You establish a rapport by agreeing to what the potential customer says and becomes his friend. You are then able to offer different alternatives to confuse the buyer. Since you are their friend now they will most often ask you what product you will suggest and they will go for that.

2. Conversational hypnosis can be used in relationships. Sometimes it might be hard to get our friends and loved ones to understand out mindset and how we behave. if you use convert hypnosis to manage this you will be able to build stronger relationships with your beloved ones.

3. With conversational hypnosis you are able to help people to focus on what is best for them. Many go through life doing what’s expected of them without doing what they really want. By entering the subconscious mind of your friends and family you will be able to understand where they want to be and change their mindset to achieve that.

What are the disadvantages of conversational hypnotherapy?

Like everything else, there are two sides to the story. Conversational hypnotherapy can be used to influence people towards wrong ideas and wrong paths as well. People can use conversational hypnotherapy to induce people to follow wrong ideas like terrorism and fundamentalism. In fact, this therapy is used by terrorist outfits around the world.

Conversational hypnosis is a great tool for improving your relationships with those around you. You will be able to improve your relationships and influence people to reach levels they could never have reached themselves. You will gain a more positive and intellectual mindset as you improve your skills and learn how to use it to improve the world around you.

Tai Chi - Does It Really Work?

by Barbara Williamson

This brief article explains a few things about Tai Chi, and if you’re interested, then read on, as you never know what you may discover.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice that involves slow, consistent and flowing movements to strengthen and stretch various muscles in your body. The practice of Tai Chi promotes an overall sense of well-being.

It is based on the knowledge that you can control certain aspects of your body to help accelerate inner healing – both physically and mentally. The specific Tai Chi forms are designed to stretch and strengthen your muscles and bones.

By performing the specific forms within a Tai Chi program, you can tighten up loose muscles and also, loosen up muscles that are too tight! Your muscles are then strengthened to allow for more endurance, which helps reduce the risk of injury.

If you suffer from painful joints, you can use Tai Chi to improve your joint’s range of motion, which can result in the diminishing of your pain. With Tai Chi your muscles become more flexible which allows you to endure more physical activity.

If you have problems with balance, you can use the Tai Chi forms to train your body to move from its center which provides stability for your body. It strengthens your core every time you practice it.

Those of you have had little or no exposure to Tai Chi now have at least a basic understanding of the practice. But there’s more to come.

With the practice of Tai Chi balance within your mind can also be developed. When stress dominates your life, your mind suffers for it. Tai Chi teaches you how to focus your energies off of your stress and on to inner peace and relaxation. The practice of Tai Chi gradually increases your sense of calm and decreases your level of anxiety.

Many Tai Chi participants indicate that they think more clearly, which is a result of an increase in the oxygen flow to the brain that this exercise promotes. Along with the mental perks, Tai Chi also helps the body’s organs function optimally.

Certain medical conditions and diseases improve through the regular use of Tai Chi. If you have issues with high blood pressure, for instance, Tai Chi can help stabilize your pressure to safer levels. Tai Chi is also beneficial in strengthening your immune system.

Though Tai Chi is an excellent physical exercise, it has so much more to offer. While traditional exercise is designed to firm muscles, increase blood flow and burn calories, Tai Chi takes physical exercise to a whole different level by incorporating the mind and spirt into the practice.

It works – not just on your body – but on your mind and spirit as well. It benefits the whole package instead of just focusing on one area of improvement.

Now you can understand why there is a growing enthusiasm for Tai Chi. When people start inquiring about more information concerning Tai Chi, you’ll be in a position to answer their questions. You may even want to begin practicing yourself.

Mental Coaching: A Recipe For Success

by George Purdy

Since the fairer gender has made its mark on all walks of life, young ladies are making their way into the prized male business world and are scaling the ladder of corporate success. Whether intentional or unintended, discrimination against females is still found in the workplace. Therefore, women require special training that teaches them to cope with the huge challenges they face while on their way to the top. Mental coaching is a vital part of this training.

Some men have a genderist attitude towards their female counterparts. Women also have to deal with gender bias from their managers and supervisors. It is very important that women learn to ignore these attitudes at work. Women need to pick and choose which battles to fight. A good way to prepare is through mental coaching.

Women can develop great self-confidence through a technique called mental coaching. Using this will improve their confidence, which after all is half the battle. Girls need to explore their wide range of attributes and skills in order to develop the confidence they need in their battles for success.

Normally, females have been pigeonholed into certain roles. In the western world as well, females were looked down upon for pursuing certain activities and hobbies just because of their gender making them “unfit.” We are all aware of the shallowness of this argument. But, when living in the shadow of this thinking for so long, the female gender has lost its self-esteem. To redeem it, they need coaching.

Every person out there can experience the benefits of mind training. This training takes on an added meaning for women since they are often thrust into new and different roles. A mother preparing their children for the day and a father getting ready for work present very different roles, even in situations where the mother also went to work. But having different roles is often disconcerting for many working women. Coaching can help these women retain their sanity and flair for life.

A woman needs to fight for her rights. Undergoing special mental coaching is a small but important step toward that goal. For a man, you should become in tuned with the special needs of the women in your life whether it is your wife, mother, daughter, or sister. Give them encouragements to take mental coaching and be a winner.

The purpose of mental coaching is to develop immense self-confidence that will propel the fairer gender into more zealous battles for success. Once they have developed such confidence in their own abilities, half the battle would have already been won. To develop confidence, girls need to be exposed to the breadth of their abilities. Females have been pigeonholed into certain roles. Living in the shadow of this thinking for so long, the female gender has lost its self-esteem. To redeem it, they need coaching. Everyone can benefit from mind training. However, such coaching assumes special importance for women because they often have to don different roles together.

Time Management - How To Use Your Environment To Your Advantage

by Michael Adams

Time management for many of us seems to be full of un-fun things like following a boring process, mental discipline, stale techniques to help avoid procrastination so we can be more productive with our time.

Sure all of those things can and do work, but at what cost? Wouldn’t it be more fun to learn other ways of improving your time management that cost very little in terms of time and mental discipline? Let’s skip those “Brute Force Time Management” techniques and instead try something easier.

I think Buckminster Fuller got it right when he said “Environment is stronger than will power”. Think about it for a minute. If you’re trying to lose weight, but you’re sitting in the middle of a candy factory, how had do you think it will be to not eat candy? On the other hand, if you’re living in a health spa, I bet you could avoid eating candy much easier, even probably start working out too.

This same sort of idea goes for almost everything, yet most people don’t think about setting up the right environment for efficient time management. In fact, most people kind of think of anything having to do with time management as a chore. Let’s turn that around.

Take a look around your work space. Pick out 5 easy to indentify objects in it and ask yourself “Does this support my goal to be better at time management or detract from my goal to be better at time management?”

No “maybe” answers allowed. If an item you picked does not explicitly support your time management and productivity goals, immediately toss it out or otherwise remove it from your workspace.

If you’re honest with yourself, you probably have a few easy things you can eliminate. Televisions sets are famous for being a major distraction. Beyond just distracting you for a moment, they also entice you to keep watching for hours upon hours, thus making it much hard to get your goals accomplished for the day. If there is a television in your workspace, get rid of it right away by disconnecting it or even relocating it to another room.

A messy desk full of papers can be another distraction from your productivity and efforts for better time management. Just ask yourself the simple question of whether having a messy desk supports your productivity or detracts from it. Beyond aesthetics, a messy desk makes it harder to find your important papers and can cost you more time as you have to hunt to find them. Help yourself out, clean up your desk!

I used these two mundane and simple because they are easy to understand and get the point across. The basic idea is to get rid of anything your work space that doesn’t help you reach your time management goals.

Of course after you remove distractions and non-supportive elements, your next step will be to add elements to your environment that actually support your time management improvement goals. We cover more of that in my other articles.
