A Recipe for Success in 4 Easy Steps

by Kurt Schmitt

Every self development guru has a different approach to success, but what people really want is a simple recipe for success that produces results under any circumstance. I’ve been using such a formula for years. When you see how well this works, you’ll easily make this a part of your results getting routine. After a while, you’ll forget you’re actually doing it.

I did not come up with this formula myself. I learned it from Tony Robbins’ “Personal Power II” home audio series. In a nutshell, it’s a four step formula for achieving results in any area of your life.

The great thing about this is that it is subject matter neutral. The formula doesn’t care what you want to achieve, but there are some guidelines. The hardest part of this may be that any doubts or fears you have based on beliefs and experiences need to be put aside if this is going to work for you.

To accomplish anything of great value usually takes a bit of a leap of faith. You have to learn to “get out of your own way” and take action regardless of doubt.

In simplicity lies great power, and this system is no exception. Imagine a complex invention like the automobile and all its moving parts and interdependent systems. Now, imagine that same complex invention without the many components that contain the simplest of inventions, the wheel. The automobile is nothing without the power of the wheel.

It’s possible that you might be tempted to dismiss this system for being too obvious and too simple. It won’t take long, however, for you to see the simple power in this recipe for success.

Motivation initiates action. Motivation, however, is easily lost and needs to be renewed. Following the guidelines in this recipe will help you to keep on track and renew your motivation. Below is the formula for success that works to get you what you want.

1. Decide on your outcome – You must decide on what you want. You can’t get where you want to go if you don’t have a destination in mind. Determine what it is you really want and make up your mind to get it. It sounds obvious, but most people spend much of their time wishing and very little time deciding.

2. Take action—Now that you know where you want to go, you have to take action in order to get there. This requires you to make a second decision to take immediate action on your first decision. Make a commitment to taking those actions that will move you toward your desired outcome. In order to do this, you must put aside all fear and doubt. Like Nike, “just do it.”

3. Track progress—Check your progress and notice what is working and what is not. Do more of what is working, and change or drop what is not working. Keep fine tuning your actions until you achieve the results you want.

4. Model someone successful—One of the quickest ways to success is to find someone who has what you have, and then do what they did to get it. Modeling means copying what works. You can then improve upon it by monitoring your progress and adjusting.

I invite you to try this simple recipe for success for the next 30 days. Once you see that it works, please share it with a friend.

Utilizing the Best Goal Setting Tips for Your Personal Success

by James Carter

When a person sets goals for personal success, the achievement of those goals depends greatly on the goal setting tactics that are used to set the original goals. People often set huge goals with huge rewards at the end of the journey. But, these goal setting choices make success hard to obtain. When it comes to the personal success of goal setting, each personal needs to think big, aim small and celebrate each and every success for what it is worth, a success.

The most important aspects of personal goal setting for success are the goals themselves. Here are a few tips on how to set the goals for your personal self.

Aim big, measure small. Goal setting needs to be realistic. If you are out to lose 100 pounds, the goal of 100 pounds is too large. You need to make the goal setting task a smaller part of the while. Ten pounds steps toward the larger end goal is easier to achieve and thus easier to maintain. In addition, the celebration from reaching each of the goal setting milestones can be celebrated and used a motivation for that next small step of goal setting success.

Reward yourself often. Along the same lines as setting small personal success goals is rewarding yourself for those goals. On the same topic of weight loss, every time you lose those ten pounds, give something back to you! This is the purpose of goal setting for success. Reaching the goals means patting yourself on the back and preparing for the next goal. Try rewarding yourself with something totally unrelated to the goal. Weight loss, for instance, should not be rewarded with beauty regimes. But something more tangible, like a stone in the garden or a new picture on the wall.

Take the help you need. Pride in goal setting is often the hamper to our success. When we need help achieving our goals, there are often many people around us willing to give that help, but the prideful creatures we are, we aim at accomplishing that goal setting success all by ourselves. A goal that is reached, is a success no matter if you have help or not!

Revise when needed. Goal setting is not perfect. Life comes at you with the force of reality and often goal setting needs to be reworked in order to fit the current times and life choices. Success is not measured on the accomplishment of the original goal, just n accomplishment in general. You are the one that controls your goal setting fate and ultimately your success. Do not be afraid to change and modify your goals as needed.

Not every success is a success. Sometimes goal setting means we are going to succeed and sometimes we are not. Our goals are points that we will aim for and goal setting a path to take. When reality moves our goals out of reach, it is the will to keep walking toward the end and making those small advances that is the real achievement.

Taking your time and setting goals that are achievable will make the difference in goal setting for personal success. It is the goals we set in our lives that make us drive for more and strive for the best. Goal setting needs to be realistic and open to change. And, when goals setting works and those success goals are reached, celebrate and reward yourself.

Recipe for Success: A 4 Step Formula

by Kurt Schmitt

Every self development guru has a different approach to success, but what people really want is a simple recipe for success that produces results under any circumstance. I’ve been using such a formula for years. When you see how well this works, you’ll easily make this a part of your results getting routine. After a while, you’ll forget you’re actually doing it.

I did not come up with this formula myself. I learned it from Tony Robbins’ “Personal Power II” home audio series. In a nutshell, it’s a four step formula for achieving results in any area of your life.

Let’s say you have a strong desire to accomplish something. For our purposes, it doesn’t matter what that something is, since our plan can be used in all situations. But, you’ll have to discard any doubts you might have if you’re going to use this recipe. That includes doubts formed by past experiences and core beliefs. This, for some, is the hardest part of any pursuit of success they may choose to take up.

In order for this recipe to work, you must realize that you are the biggest obstacle to your success. What you must commit to is taking action, regardless of any fears or doubts about whether or not success is possible.

As you know, there is power in simplicity. Just look at the invention known as the wheel. It’s so simple, yet incredibly useful as anyone who has tried to drive a car without wheels will tell you.

Many people think that you have to work hard to get ahead, and therefore something that seems too easy doesn’t have much value. Don’t confuse the simple power of this system for something that seems too easy. Passing an electric current through a wire is simple, but inventing the light bulb was no easy task.

Following a process such as this formula helps you stay on track. It can act as a motivation booster when you need it. Below is the four step recipe for success that will work for anything you want to accomplish.

1. Decide on what you want – Many people do not do this! Instead, they wish away their time. You must decide on what you want your outcome to be. Let’s say you need to buy some milk. Imagine getting in your car and driving down random roads, with no particular destination in mind. Not the most efficient way to go buy some milk. What are the odds that you’ll end up where you want to go if you don’t have a destination in mind? Slim to none.

2. Act—You must make a second decision and decide to make a change. You must decide to take immediate action on your first decision. Then, resolve to take those actions that work toward your goal. Do this regardless of fear, doubt, or any ongoing indications that you may not get what you want.

3. Monitor your results—Some things you do will work well and others will not. Monitor your results, and ask yourself if it’s working. If what you’re doing isn’t working, then make adjustments, and monitor some more. Eventually, you’ll find the best methods and improve upon those.

4. Use modeling—Modeling is essentially copying what works. If you model those who are already successful, you’ll accelerate your progress and achieve results you otherwise would not. Not only is it easier to copy what someone else has already done, but you can improve upon it little by little.

I invite you to try this simple recipe for success for the next 30 days. Once you see that it works, please share it with a friend.

Do the Harder Thing - Don’t Give Up, Stick To The Plan

by Theo McLanahan

It is normal to have an occasional bad day, and feel like you are going no where. It can almost seem like the best solution is simply giving up. That might make you feel better momentarily, but it can also leave you guilt-ridden and stressed out.

If you can make the commitment to stick with your business plan, it will seem hard, but you will feel better for having done so in the end. If you are struggling with your business goals, why not enlist the services of a life coach to help you. Or, you may find that your business turmoil is tied to your personal life and they are affecting each other.

If you have much stress in your personal life, your business life will also be affected. Stress is very negative all around- it will leave you feeling stressed, tired, and always on the verge of a breakdown. Life coaches can suggest techniques to help you manage this stress.

Many people are affected by anxiety. You will not be as productive as you could be if you are constantly worried about something else in your life. Some anxiety problems can only be helped with a doctor’s care, but if your problems are minor, a life coach may be able to assist you. They can help you find out what is causing the anxiety and help you find ways to manage it.

Many people lack the ability to focus. If your work is piling up, it is easy to feel like you lack control, and feel overwhelmed. A life coach can help you analyze which tasks are crucial and what is a waste of time. They can give you focus and develop strategies, goals and plans to take action to accomplish the important tasks.

Be sure to also take care of yourself, as it relates to how you feel. A life coach can also direct you towards healthier eating choices and towards making time in your routine for exercise.

Each January, many people resolve to get organized. If you find yourself constantly looking for important phone numbers or pulling through the drive-through because you didn’t have time to buy groceries, a life coach can work with you to develop an organization system that works with your personality.

With finding balance with your personal life, you will find your business life (which is linked) falling into place too.

Think Positive for a Positive Life

by Theo McLanahan

Thinking positive may sound like gibberish to some but others are firm believers. Faced with problems or challenges, thinking positive can help you achieve the best.

Even when things don’t seem to be going right, a positive attitude can help you defeat your challenges. When you think positively, you can picture your accomplishments. Failing is not an alternative and you can manage any difficulties that come to you. Positive people attract other positive people and are more decisive in life.

When you find yourself facing a roadblock, try to find a way around it. It can be easy to give up. Giving up will not bring you any closer to accomplishing your goals. In fact, giving up can make you feel even worse and cause more stress.

Finding a way to forge ahead and reach your goal or accomplish your task will help you grow as a person. You will feel more confident and able to take on new, more difficult challenges.

You can’t change your way of thinking overnight. Big changes can come from taking small steps.

Start your morning with positive thoughts. You’re going to have a great day. Nice things are going to happen to you. Picture all the new clients you’ve attracted or a reporter who wants to do a magazine story featuring you.

Create a “dream board” or “dream book” to collect all the things you would like to accomplish or just add pictures that you like from a magazine. You can pin these to a bulletin board or just paste them to a scrapbook.

Don’t limit your ideas. If you have a picture of a house that you love, put it on your board. Is there a car you’ve always wanted or a place you’d love to travel?

Take a moment each day to look at your dream board or flip through your dream book. Think positive thoughts such as “one day, I will own that car” or “one day, I will take a vacation here”. This can inspire you and motivate you to work hard and achieve success. Your dream book is giving you a glimpse of your rewards. Now, it is up to you to take action.

Giving and Receiving Respect on Your Financial Roller Coaster

by Healthy Wealthy nWise

Who doesn’t love a rags-to-riches story? Bill Bartmann is a living example of one, going from high school drop-out and gang member at age 14 to millionaire by the time he was 30. Kathy, his wife, helped turn him around. They’ve been married over 30 years, and through the ups and downs, she has never left his side.

Kathy is the one who convinced Bill Bartmann to get his GED, undergraduate degree, and later his law degree, all with a great deal of effort necessary. Because of his hard work and unwillingness to accept failure, Bill was able to open a law practice helping people who couldn’t afford to hire an attorney.

Bill Bartmann’s financial roller coaster ride began when he left the law practice after about five years. It was the 1970’s, and he made a fortune in real estate (which at the time, was fairly easy to do). He was a millionaire by the time he was 30 years old. He then went into the oil business, but when the price of oil dropped from $40 per barrel to only $14, his fortune disappeared.

To add insult to injury, debt collectors started hassling Bill and Kathy over the phone. It was appalling how rude these people could be! Even if he had the money, he wouldn’t have wanted to pay those awful people. That’s when it hit him. Why not start a “nice” debt collection business? This idea was so successful that Bill was once again a millionaire.

How could such a business NOT succeed? Most people are generally good-hearted and really want to pay their debts, but when something happens like a job loss or an illness, people are simply unable to pay. Bill knew that yelling wouldn’t solve the problem, so his company showed respect and asked people to send whatever they could.

In everything Bill Bartmann has done, whether it brought him rags or riches, he did it with passion. He didn’t listen to teachers who told him to get the job that pays the best. What good is a great-paying job if you’re too miserable or too busy to enjoy the rest of your life? He knew that in order to find success, he would have to be happy.

Through it all, Bill has gone bankrupt twice, but he has also been a millionaire three times, and now he’s a billionaire. He uses the real-life knowledge he’s acquired to help others through his Billionaire Mentor Program. In Bill’s program, you’ll see things you won’t see in other programs, and you won’t see things you do see in other programs. Why? Respect.

Just as he respected debtors in his collection business, Bill respects entrepreneurs in his business school. He doesn’t have pep rallies and rah-rah sessions. He doesn’t do all day infomercials. He doesn’t give you a lot of fluff you already know. Everything you get is on your level and included in the price of the membership.

The Two Types of Home-Based Entrepreneur

by Home Office Success Guru Jeff Landers

Don’t fool yourself. Having a den with a computer doesn’t mean you’re ready to run your own business. A real entrepreneur isn’t satisfied with their success today. They want to create a business that will continue to succeed tomorrow. They look beyond the present. They are always striving to be more.

Today is the time for you to become the visionary for your own business- to take one small, tiny step toward the company you dreamed of having when you were sitting in that cubicle working for your overbearing bosses and that soulless corporation.

The first step you need to take in order to turn around your stagnating business and become a successful entrepreneur is to figure out exactly what you want to accomplish. Your business must align with your personality. Decide now whether you want your business to remain small or if you want to grow it much larger. Writing a complete business plan is not necessary – Just try to envision the perfect business for you. What would it look like and how would it help you reach your goals?

I’ve discovered two very different types of home-based entrepreneur. I call them the ‘Growth Maven’ and the ‘Lifestyle Guru’.

‘Growth Mavens’ are fiercely ambitious. They do not think small. The Growth Maven starts her business in her home office to keep expenses low, but is chomping at the bit to raise the company to new heights. Her dream is to grow from a single person company to a multi-employee company and maybe even larger. She thinks someday she will be like the mega-stars who originally started their companies as home-based businesses: Bill Gates, Martha Stewart, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, and Michael Dell. She knows there is no limit to the amount of money she can make, and she is dedicated to constantly innovating her products and services. But she has to get out of her house first.

The ‘Lifestyle Guru’ made the dream happen the first day that he didn’t go into the office. His dream was to leave the soulless corporation behind and be his own boss. He hates the commute, the suit and tie, the cubicle, the office politics, and the crazy, overbearing bosses. He wants more-to not just feel like he is pushing paper until 6 o’clock. He wants to feel a sense of contribution and pride in his work. And he wants to do it his way.

The Lifestyle Guru wants to wear pajamas to work and knock off at 3 p.m. for a few hours so he can catch his kid’s soccer match. He doesn’t mind clearing out his e-mail in-box after his wife and kids are in bed. Sometimes he works on the weekends, sometimes he doesn’t. He knows there is a limit to the amount of money he can make, but he is bringing in a comfortable six-figure income and he has more leisure time to spend with his family and friends. When it works, it all feels pretty good.

You probably already have some idea whether you are a Growth Maven or a Lifestyle Guru, but if you are sitting on the fence and not sure in which direction you’d like to go, then I have a quiz available online and in my book that should help you figure that out.

Managing Employee Fear: Running An Unstoppable Business

by ‘Dr. Proactive’ Randy Gilbert

Fear can halt businesses like no other emotion. People of every nation in the world know this same powerful feeling. When fear is in the workplace, nothing else saps the efficiency, morale, and momentum from your organization like it.

How then can you make your business an effective and unstoppable force? Gayle Gregory, motivational coach, leadership consultant, and co-author of the book “The Grand Experiment: An Expedition of Self-Discovery”, feels that the key to an unstoppable business is identifying and eliminating the fears present in the minds of its employees. “The source of innovation is a place of fearlessness where we are not trying to force things to happen,” says Gregory.

Gregory has identified seven fundamental fears found in the human psyche that are reflected in everything, from personal lives to careers. “The seven fears are universal,” Gregory observes. Everyone in the workplace, from those at the top to those at the bottom can find some aspect of all seven fears within them. These fears are not always something people are aware of yet they have a profound effect upon the creativity, interactivity, and efficiency of a business workplace.

Gregory challenges that the world is not a scary place, but rather, an individual’s own perspective determines their intimidation level. There are thousands of possible ways to interpret the situations presented everyday. How to react is your decision. To dismantle the fear of the world, make a conscious decision to react proactively to a challenge rather than in a negative manner. “The world just is,” advises Gregory, “You give it meaning.”

Your workplace has an “Unstoppability Factor”. You can determine what that is by first identifying the fears that are present within it. So, where do these fears lurk? “Go out into the workplace and find out what prevents people from doing their work,” Gregory says, “Why are they standing around vending machines having conversations? What are those conversations about? Its all fear based.” Basically when fear is present, morale is low and employees are dissatisfied with their jobs and lose passion for the work they do.

The next step to making your company unstoppable is to take the power out of each fear. At first the process is difficult and uncomfortable because it requires open discussion and admission of individual fears. Take the initiative and lay out each of the fears to be discussed. This way you can manage the discomfort associated with sharing personal fear and turn it into a proactive game that can be won. “The only thing that holds fear in place is our unwillingness to look at it,” Gregory shares, “As soon as you place your fear out on the table, it begins to dissolve and lose it’s power.”

Gregory, who once held a lucrative position in a Fortune 500 company, left to explore the human condition by sailing to Mexico. Through her own introspection and spirituality, while sailing the Sea of Cortez, she realized what she learned about human fears realized had held her back. Knowing how costly fear can be in a work environment, Gayle now enjoys motivating and energizing the business world by purging their workplace fears, which she sees keeping all companies from reaching their fullest potentials.

To gain a competitive edge, your business needs to be perceived as bold and innovative. Fear prevents companies and their employees from reaching their full potential. In an enterprise where fear is present, internal conflict often diminishes a workplace or department’s ability to function smoothly as one contiguous unit.

Obviously a business that is fighting itself cannot also effectively fight its competition as well. “We’re so busy competing with each other that we forget to compete with competitors in the marketplace,” warns Gregory. Fears such as thinking that there is not enough resources, time, favor, and other commodities for all tend to breed individualistic attitudes rather than team spirit. To stop this, encourage an attitude of cooperation among your employees and share rewards among many rather than granting one first prize. Employees that are afraid to share their ideas or work together cripple the overall productivity of the workplace with their fears.

Ultimately, the unstoppability of your business lies with your decision to expose fears rather than let them hide. A fear kept in the dark, no matter how small, costs your company performance ability. The emotional environment of a workplace expands exponentially the vision of what you and your enterprise can do. Even if your business achieves its goals for the future, you are settling for far less than your full potential when you do not dismantle the fears within the organization and individuals. “When you take the fear away, the automatic outcome is you energize your performance,” says Gregory.

You Can Succeed- Find out How

by MJG Urquart

I used to find loads of reasons why I failed at various things. If a project didn’t come to fruition it was because of someone else. If a business failed it was bad luck. Can you relate to this? Are you ready to take responsibility for your failures and and turn failures into success? One of the main reasons for failure is that we are conditioned to it.

From the time you are born you are being conditioned to be unsuccessful and to regard money and success as something that’s not necessarily good. How many times have you heard someone say “money is the root of all evil” or ” It’s easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get to heaven”

You’ve heard these comments hundreds of times. probably so many times that you hardly notice them but all the time your subconscious mind is storing them away. Do you think a 100 meter sprinter at the start of the Olympics says to himself “If I run too fast I might fall over”? No he doesn’t he tells himself positive things. Think positive and re-condition your brain to believe that you can be successful and you will be. How do I know? Easy I’ve done it. 6 months ago I bought Sean Le Mays Procrastination Blaster and I have gone from someone generally gave up of failed to someone who has become successful. I didn’t believe that I suffered from procrastination but I bought the product on a recommendation from a friend and it had a major impact on my life.

With procrastination blaster there is nothing to do just sit back and relax and let the program do the work. The program is based on scientifically proven facts and makes use of the different types of brain waves. By stimulating different types of brainwaves your subconscious takes aboard the positive messages that the program provides. The state that you are placed in is similar to those experienced by people who practice deep meditation.

We will now have a look at the 4 different types of brain waves and at the various conscious states in which they exist

Beta waves are normally present in your normal waking state. it more than likely that you are in a beta state now. You’ll find these waves associated with alertness, cognition concentration and arousal.

When you are absorbed by a good film, or a great book then it is fair to say that you are in the much slower alpha state. Alpha waves are associated with relaxation, learning and increased concentration.

Theta waves slower than alpha, usually experienced during dreaming sleep associated with increased creativity, some kinds of super learning, increased memory ability and “a ha” experiences.

The lowest waves that we’ll look at are Delta waves. These are the key to your subconscious and usually are present in dreamless sleep.

This all might sound like science fiction but I assure you it’s not, why not check out our review of procrastination blaster and see how it can help you to succeed.

What’s Stopping You From Succeeding?

by Theo McLanahan

When you own a business, you’re both the boss and the employee. Some people love this kind of setup and achieve far more than they ever would in a traditional workplace. For others, it can spell disaster. It’s important to analyze yourself regularly to ensure you’re keeping on track.

Are you focusing on your business? This one thing can make a huge difference to your success. When you’re working at home, it’s pretty easy to lose focus with all the other things calling for your attention. But it’s okay to let the laundry sit for a few hours while you’re working. The laundry isn’t going to pay any bills, but your business sure can.

It’s not only important to focus on your business, it’s also important to focus in your business. It’s easy to get sidetracked from one task by some new idea or offer. Spreading yourself out over too many projects means none of them are going to get done effectively. It’s all about focus.

Are you being productive? At the end of the day, do you ever feel like you worked all day but accomplished nothing? Take a look at the tasks you are working on, and whether they are actually important to your success. If you find yourself getting sidetracked by surfing the web, chatting in forums, or reading blogs, try to schedule time for those activities after your “real work” is done.

On the other hand, if you feel your time is being sucked away by answering email, updating your website, or collecting research for an upcoming information product you are working on, try outsourcing those tasks to a virtual assistant. This will help you free up some time to work on business tasks that need more attention.

Are you reaching the goals you’ve set for yourself? If you’re constantly missing deadlines and not reaching goals, you might want to look at them and see if they’re really realistic. Create an action plan for yourself and follow it.

Would I hire myself? This is a tough question to ask yourself, but it is very important. It may sound silly, but perhaps you could write out a job description and give yourself an interview. Are you the type of employee you would want to hire?

If you find that you wouldn’t actually hire yourself, take a look at the areas that need improvement. This can be uncomfortable, but once you identify your weaknesses you can get to work on improving them, or outsourcing those tasks to someone who can do them better than you.
